Organization: Hartwell Center

The Hartwell Center is unique in integrating high-throughput biotechnology services with research computing and bioinformatics support to provide St. Jude research programs the best possible research environment. The Center has evolved since the mid-1980s to include the range and scope of activities it offers today. The investment made in these "tools for discovery" have led to contributions to most research efforts and publications produced by St. Jude faculty and numerous discoveries impacting the diagnosis, classification, and treatment of pediatric diseases.

Staffing

The Center currently employs 40 staff members including 19 Ph.D.-level staff scientists.

Fees for Services

The Hartwell Center does not provide services outside St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude investigators do pay nominal fees for our services designed to recover reagent costs only. The facility is supported by ALSAC, Cancer Center Support Grant funds, program project funds, our charge-back system, and a major private donor.
