Hartwell Center for Bioinformatics & Biotechnology
The Hartwell Center is a unique integration of high-throughput biotechnology resources, bioinformatics resources and academic programs; designed to provide St. Jude with state-of-the-art tools for discovery. These tools include high-throughput DNA sequence analysis, gene expression analysis, proteomics, mass spectrometry, macromolecular synthesis, molecular interaction analysis and other methodologies. Many of these are high-throughput biotechnologies that allow large-scale biology questions to be addressed and are fundamentally changing the way science is conducted. They typically generate enormous datasets and demand a strong bioinformatics staff, software/database development support, and a high-performance computing environment. The Hartwell Center, through its expert staff and significant resources, is pleased to offer these capabilities in support of St. Jude research programs.
Our Mission is to be the best in applying modern bioinformatics and biotechnology to the study and treatment of pediatric catastrophic diseases.
