The Hartwell Center 's Bioinformatics, Software Development, Functional Genomics, and CACT teams have completed a major upgrade to our microarray gene expression database HCNetDat. A total of nearly 120,000 gene annotations are now included in this database representing genes present on all cDNA microarrays produced by the Functional Genomics laboratory as well as all genes represented on commonly used human, mouse, and yeast Affymetrix GeneChips used by the CACT laboratory. Several hundred thousand BLAST searches were performed to populate the database. The user interface has also been completely redesigned to provide more intuitive usage, increased functionality, better query tools, and more data.

NEW! Release of HCNetDat version 2.2
- A Map Viewer for visual display of genes on chromosomes (currently only available for human genes) has been added.
April 15, 2004
- Physical location of genes in base pairs on chromosomes added for all cDNA and Affy gene chip microarrays.
- New search term, “Search by Physical Location” added to access all genes located within a specified range on a chromosome.
- New Affymetrix GeneChip for Saccharomyces cerevisae genome, YG_S98 annotations are now available. The annotation data was obtained from the current official release of Saccharomyces Genome Database.
- Improved interface for better visualization of the result pages.
