The File Transfer Application (FTA) allows St. Jude users to transfer files securely to St. Jude and external parties. External parties can also use this application to transfer files to St. Jude users.

Please click here to download a quick start card with details on how to use this solution.

Some of the benefits of using the FTA solution include:

  • Web-based user interface
  • The files will not be stored in the email, but rather on the FTA server. The email sent using the FTA server will contain a link to the file with details on how to retrieve the file and how long the file will be available on the server. Using FTA to send attachments will help reduce the impact the attachments have on the size of your mail box and hopefully reduce the instances where mail box quota limitations are exceeded
  • Users will be required to authenticate before retrieving the file. St. Jude employees will use their St. Jude email address and St. Jude password to authenticate. External users will need to create an account
  • All transmissions occur over secure (https://) web connections
  • FTA now uses a Java based application to allow transfers up to 20 GB and the transferring of folders. When prompted, please be sure to select the trust the Java applet so that FTA will work
  • You are limited to 10 attachments per transfer, but if you have the Java applet active, you can select a folder with any number of files and it will zip the folder and count this as one item in the transfer. Files over 2 GB will utilize the Java applet to automatically concatenate the sub-files or a recipient can choose to concatenate the files manually
