News  LaserGene/DNA Star Suite - Network License in Place for St. Jude Systems

The Hartwell Center is pleased to announce the deployment of a 36 seat concurrent user LaserGene/DNA Star suite license for desktop sequence analysis.

The LaserGene suite will be installed on all new Windows or Macintosh systems that Research Computing in the Hartwell Center deploys and we will also be able to install the suite on any St. Jude systems.

The most current version of the application will allow users to transfer their Vector NTI databases into the LaserGene suite. Please contact your LSP or Andrew Pappas (3091) for assistance with this transfer.

Bioinformatics staff in the Hartwell Center are planning to soon offer classes on the LaserGene suite. Please check the Hartwell Center's training web site for a schedule of upcoming classes:

We will continue to maintain existing sequence analysis solutions on campus, but only offer training for the LaserGene suite.

The following sequence solutions are currently provided by the Hartwell Center and will continue to be maintained as detailed below:

  • Access to latest versions and any future updates for both Windows and Macintosh platforms
  • 36 user concurrent network license

• Vector NTI Dynamic License Server
  • Supporting version 9.x on Windows and Mac version
  • 20 user concurrent network license
  • No updates planned for this server
  • No version available for Mac OS 10.4.x or higher or Intel based Macintosh systems
  • No training provided by the Hartwell Center
