What's Changing?
We have transitioned many of the Hartwell Center applications to use the same username and password that you use to log into your Windows desktop (your STJUDE credentials), Outlook/Entourage/Mail on your Macintosh and the Enterprise System (Lawson).
This transition would hopefully simplify your experience accessing the Hartwell Center's applications and services by providing you with one set of credentials to access most services on campus rather than having to remember numerous usernames and passwords.

When?
There is a planned outage of many of the Hartwell Center's online services Saturday, January 14 from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. After this outage, you will be able to use your STJUDE credentials for many of the Hartwell Center's applications.

Which application will switch to using St. Jude credentials?
The following applications WILL SWITCH to using STJUDE domain credentials:
- SRM (Shared Resource Management System)
- Online ordering
- Tracking
- Data Retrieval (former WebFetch application)
- Reporting
- Online Billing
- Spotfire
- Hartwell Center Online Training Registration

Which hartwell center applications will not transition to using stjude credentials at this time?
Some notable exclusion for the time-being that WILL NOT TRANSITION include:
- Linux cluster - Users will continue to use the same username and password that they currently use to access these systems.
The Hartwell Center will continue to work to transition these remaining systems and applications to use STJUDE credentials and hopes that in the near future that all Hartwell Center applications and servers will use STJUDE credentials for access.

Getting an account
Hartwell Center staff in the Operations group will obtain information on new accounts and manage and control access to Hartwell groups and services.
If you already have an account and are in the correct laboratory groups, you won't need to change anything. Simply use your STJUDE credentials to access the services and applications that make the transition.
During the transition, if a current employee has a STJUDE domain account but does not have access to Hartwell Center services, they can fill out the Hartwell Center Computer Access Account form ( http://www.hartwellcenter.org/bio_rescom/requestforms.php ), have their principal investigator sign it and return it to Hartwell OPS (DT-1010) or they can ask their principal investigator to email the Hartwell Operations Staff (hartwell.systems@stjude.org) and request that the employee be granted access to their group.
We soon plan to add a section on the STJUDE account form that new employees complete upon being hired. Principal investigators will be able to specify on this form if the new user will need access to Hartwell data, systems and applications.

Important account issues
For the applications THAT DO MAKE THE SWITCH to using STJUDE credentials (SRM, HCWebFetch, Spotfire and Hartwell Center Online Training Registration), PLEASE KEEP THE FOLLOWING IN MIND:
Once the transition occurs, YOU CAN LOCK OUT YOUR STJUDE ACCOUNT IF YOU ENTER THE WRONG USERNAME AND PASSWORD MULTIPLE TIMES IN A ROW (3-5 failed attempts will typically lock you out).
THIS WILL LOCK YOU OUT OF OUTLOOK, LOGGING INTO WINDOWS SYSTEMS, ACCESS TO THE ITS NETWORK DRIVES(H:, S:, X:) SRM, WEBFETCH, SPOTFIRE and HARTWELL CENTER ONLINE TRAINING REGISTRATION
Local Support Providers can help unlock accounts and you can also contact the Helpdesk at extension 2000.
Please click the link below for contact information for the LSPs and the areas supported by LSPs: http://www.hartwellcenter.org/bio_rescom/clientSer/contactlsp.php
If you are not in an area supported by LSPs, please contact the Helpdesk to unlock your account.
Please keep in mind that if you fail to change your STJUDE password every 90 days, you will get locked out as well.

Other account issues
1. When a new user get a STJUDE account, they will need to change their password before they can log in. Until they change the password that first time, they will not be able to log into any of the services that use STJUDE credentials
2. Users should change their STJUDE passwords using one of the following methods:
- Windows - Press ctril-alt-del and select change password
- Outlook(Windows only) - Change password when prompted by Outlook
- Webmail - Change password via webmail interface
- Macintosh - Connect to SJMEMNAS1 and select to change password
3. SPOTFIRE Users - You will not be able to change their password from within the Spotfire application

What if i am in the wrong group?
If you are in the wrong group, please ask your principal investigator to email the Hartwell Center's Systems group (hartwell.systems@stjude.org) and request that you be granted access to their group.

What about the applications and servers that don't switch to using stjude credentials?
If you have an issue with an account used to access an application that does not make the switch (Linux cluster) please contact the Hartwell Center's Systems group (hartwell.systems@stjude.org) to resolve these account issues.
